It may be the last day of January—a little late for New Year wishes—but I hope this finds you well! I’m currently writing this from a Travelodge, en route to London, where I’ll be meeting my youngest son’s new girlfriend for the first time. A road trip, a quiet hotel room, and my laptop in tow—it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up on work and even spark some new story ideas. There’s every chance that by the time I return home, I might have already begun writing my next book!

While easing myself into 2025, I’ve felt a sense of calm, almost as though I’ve been gathering energy for what promises to be a year of change and big events. I have some exciting plans in store, the biggest being the launch of Wherever You Will Go in June! There’s so much to share about this, and I’ll be bringing you along for the journey as I prepare for the release.

A Year for Putting Myself Out There

This year, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone and making real connections with readers. I’ve lined up three indie author book fairs (with a fourth in the works) and will be attending them in person. Meeting readers face-to-face, discussing books, and getting direct feedback is something I’m looking forward to—it’s all part of growing and learning more about my author business.

To support these efforts, I’m also making some key changes to my author platform. With the help of a marketing expert, I’m refining my approach to how I connect with readers and promote my books. There’s a lot of brilliant advice I’m implementing slowly but surely, and I’m excited to see where it leads.

A Difficult Start, But Renewed Determination

Not all of this year’s changes have been planned or welcome. January brought an unexpected loss in the family, a devastating shock that has knocked me for six. Grief has a way of shifting our perspective, and while it’s been incredibly difficult, it has only strengthened my resolve to make the most of each day, pursue my goals, and follow my dreams with even greater determination.

A New Free Read – In 5 Days’ Time

One of the things I’m most excited to share is a brand-new free read I’ve just uploaded! In 5 Days’ Time is a whirlwind adventure featuring John Francis, a former soldier who fought in WWII, and Mona Baptiste, a vibrant singer from Trinidad. They meet aboard the Empire Windrush in 1948 and decide to embark on a five-day adventure before parting ways. Set in post-war London, this novella is packed with suspense, love, and drama.

If you haven’t yet subscribed to my mailing list, now’s the perfect time! Sign up and grab your free copy of In 5 Days’ Time—I can’t wait to hear what you think of it.

Here’s to an exciting and fulfilling 2025—thank you for being here with me, and I can’t wait to share more soon!
